The Frazzanò Roots Fest, part of the general project “Borghi dei Tesori Roots Fest”, aims to create different moments and opportunities for meeting between the Frazzanò community and those who now live far from our small village but are linked to it by an affection that has remained unchanged over time or proudly handed down from generation to generation.
The event includes:
– The “Museum of Roots”, a museum section entirely dedicated to local relics that tell the “migratory” past of the Sicilian population and, in particular, of Frazzanese (e.g. documents, letters, photographs, utensils sent from abroad to relatives, etc.) together with an audiovisual-phonographic collection, specially collected, of direct and indirect testimonies of the migrations that took place in the last century.
– The “Collection of Origins”, which consists of the digitization of data preserved in municipal archives to encourage genealogical research of the descendants of Sicilian emigrants who still feel that link with the territories of origin handed down by parents and grandparents.
– The show “The Songs of the Emigrant” which will take place on the occasion of the inauguration of the Museum of Roots, to pay homage to the stories lived by the many citizens who have left their native town in search of fortune through listening to the most evocative songs dedicated to the theme of emigration.
