1. Over the last century, in the month of July, the feast of the Patron Saint St. Andrew has generated a participatory presence at the religious rite in his honor and in other initiatives also on the part of many of our emigrants in Switzerland, Australia, the United States, Argentina.
The event was the subject of a wide presence on social channels, brochures and volumes, and in the press.
The festival is also celebrated abroad by communities in Australia (and followed through the social channels of the Municipality) with which a constant exchange is maintained.
This has made it possible to cultivate ties between those who left and those who remained in the village, so much so that it also promoted the celebration of family ceremonies for returning emigrants with rites in the local church, and with consequent access to the accommodation offers in the area (restaurants, trattorias, wineries, farmhouses, homes for widespread hospitality, car sharing).

Altra manifestazione di rilievo nazionale è la ViniMilo, nelle prime due settimane di settembre, che giungerà quest’anno alla sua 44aedizione, organizzata da Comune, Pro Loco Milo APS, Regione Siciliana, produttori vitivinicoli, Associazioni, con grande eco sulla stampa nazionale e sui media.

Il Comune di Milo vuole altresì far conoscere il suo ricco patrimonio vinicolo e gastronomico come pure l’antica tradizione artigianale nel settore della lavorazione del castagno, proponendo visite e laboratori delle radici al locale Museo del Castagno, dove è anche presente una Mostra del celebre land artist di Milo, che vive in Australia, Alfio Bonanno, per condividere le tradizioni locali e raccogliere il contributo documentale dei viaggiatori delle radici.
In quest’ottica promuove un’offerta aperta anche ad emigrati di ritorno in altre aree dell’isola, interessati a comprendere meglio la storia delle loro origini e a ricostruire le genealogie familiari.
