The religious procession of the Holy Crucifix, called the feast “du Tri di Majo”, is the oldest and most sacred in Bisacquino, it represents an opportunity to involve young and old, between devotion and folklore, in the organization of the event that is the religious identity of the village. The streets of the town are animated by the musical band and groups of faithful who go to the sound of the bells to prepare the Saints for the procession, while the boys collect the obols by knocking on the doors of the house. The festival reaches its climax in the afternoon: from 3 p.m. the statues of the saints, festively decorated and accompanied by the City of Bisacquino music band, will be brought by groups of young people to Piazza Triona, to pay homage to the Crucifix exhibited in the historic wooden Vara of the ‘700 by the master Bellacera (wooden canopy, inlaid and gilded, under which there is a statue of the Crucifix). To welcome tourists and onlookers in Piazza Triona there will be the drummers of Maria Santissima del Balzo and the community of Bisacquino. At 6 p.m. the wooden Vara, carried on the shoulders of 50 men, will leave the main door of the Mother Church to parade in procession preceded by the crown of the saints. The procession then ends in the square, where a solemn mass is officiated in front of the Mother Church; Fireworks, at midnight, close the day of celebration.
