This event is created from scratch specifically for the Year of Roots and aims to promote and enhance what is a typical and widespread product in the territory of the Municipality of Sant’Angelo Muxaro, namely the asparagus that grows spontaneously and in large quantities in the period between March and May of each year.
The products made with asparagus are among the most sought after by our emigrants on their return.
The festival, which will take place on 13 and 14 April 2024, includes the creation and distribution of typical dishes of the local tradition that have wild asparagus as the protagonist and at the same time one of the four “Roots Workshops” will be held during which participants will have the opportunity to prepare asparagus-based dishes.
On April 13th, the Administration will organize a conference on the organoleptic qualities of wild asparagus.

How to get there
Sant'Angelo Muxaro (Agrigento) - From Agrigento towards Raffadali first along the SS118 then towards Santa Elisabetta along the SP17 and finally towards Sant'Angelo Muxaro along the SP19. - From Palermo take the SS118 to Raffadali and then continue as above. - From Catania go to Agrigento and then SS118 towards Raffadali, SP17 towards Santa Elisabetta and SP19 to Sant'Angelo Muxaro.
