The iconographic exhibition, “Sicilian Crossing to the United States of America and the Derived Communitis”, will also be held in the Ellis Island Museum in New York, on the history of the great Sicilian emigration to the United States, as part of the project carried out by Marcello Saija from Messina who, through vintage photos and newspaper clippings, traces the vicissitudes of our compatriots at the beginning of the last century. Within the same exhibition there will be exhibition panels with old images of the town, memorabilia and memories of the town. All this is part of the two main identity events of Basicò, the Feast of the patron saint Maria Santissima di Basicò and the Fiera della Provola, thus paying particular attention to the reception of tourists from Basicò, an opportunity for “memory”.
