The Municipality of Trappeto is an area that has suffered strongly from the phenomenon of immigration since the early 900s.
Many citizens of Trappeto have settled over time in other countries, forming numerous communities, in which the sense of belonging to Trappeto is still very strong even among second and third generation immigrants.
The Municipality of Trappeto has set up a project as part of the “2024 year of Italian roots” divided into several initiatives:
– Events that want to evoke the events of immigration and offer margins of identity recognition;
– Strengthen the bond with the Italo-descendants, allowing them to know and discover their family history;
– Implementation of a local tourism aimed at enhancing a path of knowledge of the assets of artistic and historical heritage value, present in the historic center of Trappeto;
– Support local commercial activities, with a view to promoting the territory and cooperation with tourists who deal with institutions and the community;
– To allow Emigrant citizens of Trappeto to rediscover the cultural roots of belonging through meetings with the housewives of the town for Working Holiday experiences.
