From the mountains, from the sea, from the land, climbing a rock, immersed in wheat fields. Fifty small Sicilian municipalities will come alive for three weekends in spring, thanks to the Borghi dei Tesori Fest, which-in celebration of the Year of Roots-will be called Borghi dei Tesori Roots Fest, offering a series of experiences related to the discovery of the most authentic traditions and places of emigration.
On the three weekends between May 10 and 26, the opportunity to visit an invaluable and often unknown heritage with a single visit coupon: castles, churches, noble palaces, museums, mines, astronomical observatories, craft workshops, and typical production workshops. A world that smells good: museums, dairies, waterfalls, breathtaking sunsets.
Like tiles in a single mosaic, some 200 sites, walks and experiences will be realized thanks to 400 young people involved in telling the story of the Sicily of traditions.
A Roots Festival to curb current emigration. A project created to combat the depopulation of Sicily’s inland areas by creating an integrated cultural offer, animated by local youth.
