The historic buildings of the 1700s, of the late Baroque, the churches dating back to the 1600s that house works, such as the “Canvas of the Martyrdom of St. Stephen” listed by the Sicilian painter Pietro Novelli and the two squares: Rome and Umberto I, the drawing room of the nobility and a place of aggregation of the people.
The details of the squares: the town hall built in the middle of the Fascist era, characterized by a simple and linear neo-classical style and the clock tower surmounted by the coat of arms of the Municipality of Cattolica Eraclea depicting three volcanoes surmounted by a star and a crown stand out in Piazza Umberto I. While Piazza Roma, a rare example of a square with closed corners, crossed in the middle of the sides by a cross of streets, the concept of which a posteriori influenced some cities in South America, such as: Panama 1673 and Santa Clara 1691.
Of note is the palace of the Marquis Borsellino, built in the middle of the 1700s with borancina stone and chalky material (typical of the area).
Interesting: the portal, the corner balconies and the cornice surmounted by large pine cones.
The small church of the souls of Purgatory in the middle of Piazza Roma, dating back to 1626.
In the historic center, there are several restaurants where you can taste native dishes.
