The festival, established by the Aeolian and Australian mayors at the Five Dock in Sydney in 2011, has been held for twelve years with the onerous patronage of the Sicilian Region and the municipalities of the Archipelago.
Organized by CIRCE and the Aeolian Associations of Sydney and Melbourne on the basis of a regulation shared by the three Comini of the island, it promotes the attribution of plaques to the memory of illustrious emigrants. The event moves the honored families who come here, often with large delegations.
For this 13th edition, the official letters of the associations of Australia and America have already arrived (attached) with the proposals on the emigrants to be honored and the communication of the official representatives at the ceremonies.
On the day that includes the events in this municipality, a mass in suffrage of the deceased Aeolian emigrants is scheduled in the morning, in the church of Lingua and a guided tour of the museum circuit; in the afternoon a band concert and in the evening a theatrical performance on the themes of emigration with the involvement of the local community and the descendants of the ancient emigrants present
