The declared objective is to increase relations with its communities abroad by enhancing the widespread desire to discover the roots also in order to create youth employment in the tourism services sector and at the same time support the primary productive activities capable of giving work to the younger generations of the country.
This project proceeds with the support of the Network of Sicilian Museums of Emigration, local associations and companies, whose representatives, together with the municipal administrators make up the temporary Execution Committee.
The Network of Museums will be entrusted with the task of digitizing the historical registry of the Municipality.
To increase roots tourism, during this year “2024 – Year of Italian roots in the world”, the project aims to create and carry out activities and events of food and wine, cultural, musical traditions by engaging Music Bands, scholars and lovers of local traditions with the aim of strengthening the attractiveness of the territory to foreign communities that have a keen desire to strengthen the identity cord that binds them to the origins.
These activities will be carefully publicized and in this key our Municipality has mandated the Network of Sicilian Museums to include our programs for this year 2024 in the general communication plan contemplated through the protocol that the Network of Sicilian Museums of Emigration has signed with CARSE and its Sicilian associations in the world.

From Palermo it is about 40 km, take the Palermo-Agrigento SS121 road in front of the Villafrati exit junction and take SP26 for about 7 km. Bus vehicles departing from Palermo daily, the roads indicated above can be traveled with any type of vehicle.
