The project aims to enhance all that heritage of identity of places, memory and our traditions by attracting the attention of travelers of the roots.
The aim is to create tourist itineraries and promotional initiatives, to be disseminated among the communities of Italians abroad, providing new opportunities for tour operators.
Registry consultations: Thanks to the staff of the municipal office and the parish, visitors to the roots will be able to do genealogical research.
Promotion of typical gastronomy and handicraft products.
It will be guaranteed thanks to the network of sponsors participating in the project who will also apply a special discount to returning travelers.
Nature itineraries and roots workshops: The municipal staff will direct visitors towards the knowledge of the nature itineraries to follow.
The belvedere terrace on the Alcantara riverfront will be equipped to host gastronomy, embroidery and local history workshops.
Immersed in nature, with the background of the flow of the clear water of the river, you will live a unique experience.
Festa del borgo Cavallaro: In the second week of September, to mark the end of summer, Gaggi dresses up and all the inhabitants get to work for the most important festival that comes to life in the oldest part of the town.
Cavallaro is a “ghost town”, an almost abandoned village, which comes back to life on the days of the festival.
The setting up of the stands where local handicrafts and local food and wine products will be exhibited lasts several days.
During the tastings there will be performances by folk groups.
